Collectibles

What is a Collectible?

A collectible refers to an item worth far more than it was initially sold for because of its rarity and/or popularity.

The price for a particular collectible will usually depend on how many of the same items are available, as well as its overall condition.

Collectibles can in many forms, such as antiques, coins, toys, comic books, stamps, and more.

Collectibles vs. Antiques

People will often use the words collectible and antique interchangeable, but they're actually distinctly different.

While antiques may be collectibles, not all collectibles are antiques. The distinction occurs because collectibles don't necessarily need to be old to be worth money.

  • Auction Differences

What is the differnce between a "Timed Auction", "Simulcast", and "Live"?

Timed Auctions: Auctions are online and bidding occurs and lots will close in order of Lot #

Simulcast: Timed Auction with on-site bidders and live auctioneer.

Live: No Online; live auctioneer and bidding is done in person.

  • Do I Need to be Online Until the Auction Closes?

You do not need to be online until the auction closes for "Timed or Simulcast Auctions". The platform that we utlize allows you to set a maximum bid, so if other bids are tendered the system will automatically increase your bid to the maximum. If the item is won for less than your maximum you will purchase the lot for that amound and not your maximum bid.

You will be notified by the platform if your max bid is exceeded, but we caution bidders not to rely upon these notifications as they can be delayed due to technology. You do have to be onsite for live auctions.

  • After I Win an Item What Happens Next?

If you are the successful high bidder for a timed auction, shortly after the close of the auction you will be emailed an invoice. The invoice will have a link to schedule the pickup time of the item(s) on the preset Loadout day. You can also elect you have the item(s) shipped through our third-party shipping company.
